Soyuz sunrise

This is the track that leads to the launch pad at the Baikonur

Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. It’s the route the Soyuz TMA-

12M spacecraft took on the evening after this stunning photo

was taken, on its way to become the 39th expedition to the

International Space Station. Launched on 25 March, 2014, it took

one American and two Russian astronauts up into

 space for a sixmonth stint aboard the ISS.
